The Cleveland Cavaliers employed their fourth-year option on shooting guard Dion Waiters.

The third-year guard from Syracuse averaged 15.9 points, 3.0 assists, 2.9 rebounds and shot 43 percent last season.

This move all but ensures Waiters will be part of the Cavs’ future for the foreseeable future since the Cavs exercised another club option in Waiters’ rookie contract for the 2015 season. Waiters is also eligible for a contract extension after this season.

Waiters is scheduled to make $4 million this season, $5.1 million in 2016 and $6.7 million in 2017.
