Much of the persistent talk surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers is centered around the long-term future of LeBron James.

Philadelphia 76ers forward Ben Simmons added his own twist to the situation on Tuesday afternoon by tweeting out a cryptic message towards the four-time league MVP.

The 76ers could become an intriguing destination for James if their young core can show significant development and progress next season. They are coming off five straight losing campaigns that have only been heightened by the injury bug continuing to plague their young players.

Keep in mind, Simmons missed his entire rookie campaign due to a broken foot and Joel Embiid saw his first season come to an abrupt close in late March due to a meniscus tear.

The health of their team could go a long way in presenting a strong case for James to give them legitimate consideration next offseason if he does elect to become a free agent. This will primarily rely on the play of Simmons, Embiid, and Markelle Fultz.

Since the conversation began to arise about James possibly considering leaving the Cavaliers, the Los Angeles Lakers have been the most discussed landing spot. The rumors of that happening only strengthened after speculations arose on James’ frustration with the Cavs front office’s activity, or lack thereof, this summer.
