LeBron James has received much flak for the Cavaliers’ decision to rest him in a few games this season. This made a lot of pundits assume that the four-time MVP will be sitting out the game against East rival Washington Wizards after he suffered a scratched cornea the night prior.

James had the perfect reason to miss a game, but he wasn’t having any of it this time. All he needed was a pair of goggles.

Midway into the game, Cleveland finds itself struggling mightily against a determined Wizards team, and it also signaled that James is done with the uncomfortable accessory/protection.

It can be recalled that James was in a similar situation early last season when the Cavs went up against the Knicks. Trailing by nine points, James, who was wearing sleeved jerseys for the first time and appeared uncomfortable with it, ripped off the sleeves to make the fit more relaxed.

He then went on to wear those black alternate uniforms with the sleeves seemingly more loose, and, for what it’s worth, everyone knows he also wore the same threads in the Cavs’ final two road games of the 2016 NBA Finals.

All eyes will be on James, as usual and without any pun intended, to see if risking his eye will be worth getting back that familiar comfort.
