With the Cleveland Cavaliers currently in one of the toughest stretches of their season, there are speculations that a trade is imminent, and head coach Tyronn Lue has been forced to answer questions about it. Lue, however, who surely is as frustrated as anyone else with the Cavs, continues not to fully address any trade rumors. But in his mind, he doesn’t seem to think roster changes are needed.

“I like the group we have,” Lue said. “We just haven’t been healthy the whole year, had to do some different things. But I’m just focused on coaching the guys that we have. I like our group.”

Lue also said that if there are any other questions regarding that topic, they should be directed toward general manager Koby Altman.

Clearly, someone like LeBron James is not even remotely available to put in a trade. That would just be crazy for the organization to even entertain. Besides, he’s got a no-trade clause in his contract that James won’t even consider waiving.

But there are other players that have been linked to some trade rumors. Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Iman Shumpert, Channing Frye, and Derrick Rose are among the pieces the Cavs could look to potentially trade away.

But the Cavs also have an aging roster, and no young assets to include in a trade. That could make it difficult for the team to find a suitable trade partner before the deadline on Feb. 8.

On the other hand, Lue has a point. The Cavs have had injuries to key players. For instance, they recently got Rose back into the fold, and Isaiah Thomas just returned from an injury that had kept him out for a good three months.

It’s possible that the Cavs eventually decide to stay put and see what this group can do after the All-Star break. Time will tell.
