A 10-game win streak is bound to lift a lot of moods, no matter if it’s Arthur, an injured Tristan Thompson, a Dwyane Wade coming off the bench, or a LeBron James, who has grown accustomed to winning big during his 15 years in the league.

Yet for James it isn’t about how far the streak can go, but understanding how it began and keeping in mind the things that got this Cleveland Cavaliers there.

“We know it’s 10 because everyone talks about it and everyone’s on social media and things of that nature,” James said after putting up 24 points, 12 assists, six rebounds, two steals and two highlight-worthy blocks in Atlanta, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “But we understand how we got here. And that’s defense and the way we’ve been playing offensively… If you win 10-plus games in any sport, major sport, that’s very, very good.”

Three of the Cavs’ next four games are against teams below the .500 mark, but James warned that the challenge to keep this successful run starts with not overestimating the team across the court from them.

“Saturday, it’s another struggling team, and we understand that,” James said. “But we understand we’re going to get their best in Memphis, so we look forward to the challenge.”

The Cavs have scored 100 points or more in all 10 of their wins and kept teams below 100 in four of them, proving that their defense is indeed leading to offense within the flow of the game.
