The Cleveland Cavaliers have put in the hard work this season, and they have now secured a playoff berth out in the East. Positioning is still at play, though, with the Cavs currently sitting at the No. 4 spot in the conference with a 48-30 record. The New York Knicks, who have won three straight games, are the biggest threat to Cleveland’s home-court advantage in the playoffs, but currently, the Knicks are still a full three games behind the Cavs with both teams having just four games remaining in the regular season.

Cleveland has a game coming up on Sunday against the Indiana Pacers, and a win will virtually secure a Top 4 finish for the Cavs. Unfortunately, they might need to go into battle without the services of the injured Jarrett Allen yet again.

Jarrett Allen injury status vs. Pacers

Allen has now missed two consecutive games due to a lingering groin issue. It now seems like he’s headed to a third straight game on the shelf after being listed by the Cavs as questionable for Sunday’s bout against Indiana. It’s a strained right groin that has kept the one-time All-Star out of action of late, and this could be the case again on Sunday.

At this point, Cavs fans will be hoping that the team is just taking a very cautious approach to Allen ahead of the playoffs. The last thing they need right now is a serious injury to their star big man, especially with a first-round meeting against Jalen Brunson and the Knicks looming.

Hopefully, Allen’s groin injury is not a cause for concern. We should know more on Sunday, and perhaps in the coming days as the Cavs play out their last remaining games of the season.
