Dennis Smith Jr. has one of the craziest hops in the league today. This is a fact that is often overlooked by casual NBA fans, so the Charlotte Hornets guard decided to send out a stern reminder to anyone and everyone out there. Cleveland Cavaliers superstar Donovan Mitchell witnessed the awe-inspiring poster dunk, and the Cavs star had an epic one-word reaction to the same.
For starters, here’s the dunk in question. Smith got a step on Miami Heat defender Max Strus, and the rest, as they say, is history:
Donovan Mitchell was probably watching at home when he saw Smith’s antics. The Cavs All-Star could not help but take to Twitter to share his shocked reaction to the viciousness that he just witnessed:
Mitchell is a pretty formidable dunker himself, and he too has taken more than a few victims in the multitude of poster dunks he’s had through the years. Let’s also not forget that Mitchell once raised the NBA Dunk Contest trophy a few years back. Incidentally, it was Dennis Smith Jr. who he battled en route to Spida’s Dunk Contest win in 2018.
Mitchell is obviously a fan of the game and he’s clearly an admirer of Smith’s aerial abilities. I mean, who wouldn’t be?
The Cavs are back in action on Sunday against the Toronto Raptors as Donovan Mitchell looks to lead his team to their first victory after the All-Star break. They are currently in the midst of a three-game losing skid, and a win on Sunday would go a long way for Cleveland.
