The Cleveland Cavaliers paid tribute to veteran big man Channing Frye ahead of and during their home game against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.

The team’s official Twitter account made Frye’s picture their official avatar:

Frye’s teammate, Kevin Love, was quick to troll this move by the Cavs’ social media team:

The Cavs Team Shop made a Frye-themed shirt for the fans:

Meanwhile, the Cavs themselves also had special warmup shirts dedicated to the one-time champion:

Frye was given a chance to start against the Spurs over Love, and Love even checked in off the bench wearing the veteran’s college jersey from Arizona:

And there was also a special ceremony involving good friends Frye, Love and Richard Jefferson:

Frye, who was part of the Cavs’ historic championship run back in 2016, is set to retire after this season.

It is unclear if this is going to be Frye’s final game with the team. They still have one more home game, which is against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, but based on what has been happening Sunday, the 14-year veteran might be done.

In 888 games in the NBA before Sunday’s game, Frye boasted averages of 8.8 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 44% from the field and 38.8% percent on 3-pointers.

This is his fourth season in Cleveland.

Frye decided to return to the Cavs this season to finish his career where he won his lone NBA championship. He hasn’t decided on what his post-NBA career will be, but there are a lot of options for him out there, including becoming an analyst or playing for leagues such as the BIG3.
