It goes without saying that the Cleveland Cavaliers have suffered their fair share of key losses throughout the 2017-18 NBA season. The most recent example being the health of head coach Tyronn Lue.

While he may be away from the team at the moment, his presence has still been largely felt by the team. According to Cavs play-by-play man Fred McLeod, acting head coach Larry Drew met with Lue following the team’s dominant 120-95 win over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday:

Larry visited with Ty Lue yesterday and talked tonight’s game not looking ahead..both are taking everything a game at a time, including Ty’s return

The reports of their meeting should certainly come as no surprise. Drew made it clear early on that he would still continue to consult with Lue about the team in the latter’s absence. Fortunately, Cleveland has managed to pick up their play at just the right time after winning their fourth game in a row.

The Cavs have endured quite the tumultuous season up to this point. Although the prospect of capturing the second seed in the playoffs is highly unlikely, Cleveland has done a solid job of getting on the right page with 10 games left in the regular season.

That said, they will need to be at full strength going into the postseason from both a player and coaching standpoint. That includes having Lue back on the sidelines at some point in the near future. However, the Cavs have made it clear that they will not rush the process of his return.
